Tu Reh Naward-e-Shauq Hai, Manzil Na Kar Qabool
Laila Bhi Hum-Nasheen Ho To Mehmil Na Kar Qabool
If you traverse the road of love, Donʹt yearn to seek repose or rest:
If Layla be your companion close that litter shun with great contempt.
Ae Jooye Aab Barh Ke Ho Darya-e-Tund-o-Taiz
Sahil Tujhe Ataa Ho To Sahil Na Kar Qabool
O streamlet, onward flow and get transformed to torrent strong and deep:
If bank is ever on you bestowed, Abstain, flow on with mighty sweep.
Khoya Na Ja Sanamkada-e-Kainat Mein
Mehfil Gudaz! Garmi-e-Mehfil Na Kar Qabool
Don't lose your bearings in this world because with idols it is full:
The assemblage here can cast a spell, disdain, or strings of heart shall pull.
Subah-e-Azal Ye Mujh Se Kaha Jibreel Ne
Jo Aqal Ka Ghulam Ho, Woh Dil Na Kar Qabool
Early morning Gabriel told to me
Never accept the heart, that which is the slave of the mind.
Batil Dooyi Pasand Hai, Haq La-Shareek Hai
Shirkat Mayana-e-Haq-o-Batil Na Kar Qabool
Untruth conceals in various masks but Truth is unique:
There can't be pool twixt good and bad—This fact is known from times antique.

Ghazal: Kabhi Aye Haqeeqat-e-Muntazir
Kabhi Ae Haqiqat-e-Muntazir! Nazar Aa Libas-e-Majaz Mein
Ke Hazaron Sajde Tadap Rahe Hain Meri Jabeen-e-Niaz Mein
For once, O awaited Reality, reveal Yourself in material form,
For a thousand prostrations are longing eagerly in my submissive forehead.
Tarb Ashnaye Kharosh Ho, Tu Nawa Hai Mehram-e-Gosh Ho
Woh Surood Kya Ke Chupa Huwa Ho Sakoot-e-Parda-e-Saaz Mein
Know the pleasure of tumult: thou art a tune consort with the ear!
What is that melody worth, which hides itself in the silent chords of the harp.
Tu Bacha Bacha Ke Na Rakh Isse, Tera Aaeena Hai Woh Aaeena
Ke Shikast Ho To Aziz Tar Hai Nigah-e-Aaeena Saaz Mein
Do not try to protect them, your mirror is that mirror (referring to eye)
Which would be dearer in the Maker's eye if they got broken (to cry)
Dam-e-Tof Karmak-e-Shama Ne Ye Kaha Ke Woh Asar-e-Kuhan
Na Teri Hikayat-e-Souz Mein, Na Meri Hadees-e-Gudaz Mein
During Circumambulation the moth exclaimed, "Those past effects
Neither in your story of pathos, nor in my tale of love are"
Na Kaheen Jahan Mein Aman Mili, Jo Aman Mili To Kahan Mili
Mere Jurm-e-Khana Kharab Ko Tere Afuw-e-Banda Nawaz Mein
My dark misdeeds found no refuge in the wide world -
The only refuge they found was in Your Gracious Forgiveness
Na Woh Ishq Mein Raheen Garmiyaan, Na Woh Husn Mein Raheen Shaukiyan
Na Woh Ghaznavi Mein Tarap Rahi, Na Kham Hai Zulf-e-Ayaz Mein
Neither love has that warmth, nor beauty has that humour
Neither that restlessness in Ghaznavi nor those curls in the hair locks of Ayaz are,
Jo Mein Sar Basajda Huwa Kabhi To Zameen Se Ane Lagi Sada
Tera Dil To Hai Sanam Ashna, Tujhe Kya Mile Ga Namaz Mein
Even as I laid down my head in prostration a cry arose from the ground:
Your heart has become Materialistic, what reward will you get from the Prayers.
Ke Hazaron Sajde Tadap Rahe Hain Meri Jabeen-e-Niaz Mein
For once, O awaited Reality, reveal Yourself in material form,
For a thousand prostrations are longing eagerly in my submissive forehead.

Har Shay Musafir Har Cheez Raahi
Har Shay Musafir, Har Cheez Raahi
Kya Chand Tare, Kya Murg-o-Maahi
Every unit is Voyaging, every thing is in motion
Not only the moon and stars, even the animals and fishes.
Tu Mard-e-Maidan, Tu Mir-e-Lashkar
Noori Huzoori Tere Sipaahi
You the champion of the battlefield, you the head of the army
Even the bright angels become your soldiers.
Kuch Qadar Apni Tu Ne Na Jani
Ye Besawadi, Ye Kam Nigaahi!
Of your own greatness you have no notion.
This tastelessness, this less sightedness.
Dunya-e-Doon Ki Kab Tak Ghulami
Ya Raahbi Kar Ya Padshaahi
How long will you be the slave of this dark world?
Either do leadership or do Kingship.
Peer-e-Haram Ko Dekha Hai Mein Ne
Kirdar Be-Souz, Guftar Waahi
I have seen the leader of our mosque
Tuneless character. unrealistic speech.

La Ilaaha IllAllah
Khudi Ka Sirr-e-Nihan La Ilaha Illallah
Khudi Hai Taeg, Fasan La Ilaha Illallah
The secret of the self is hid, In words, "No god but Allah"
The self is just a dull sword, the grinding stone is, "No god but Allah"
Ye Dour Apne Baraheem Ki Talash Mein Hai
Sanam Kadah Hai Jahan, La Ilaha Illallah
This Era is in search of its Abraham, Coz
The whole world is Polytheist, only "No god but Allah" can save it.
Ye Maal-o-Doulat-e-Dunya, Ye Rishta-o-Pewand
Butan-e-Weham-o-Guman, La Ilaha Illallah
The worldly wealth and riches, ties of blood and friendship
The idols, the illusions and thought, is nothing, except "No god but Allah".
Kiya Hai Tu Ne Mataa-e-Ghuroor Ka Soda
Fareb-e-Sood-o-Zayan, La Ilaha Illallah
A bargain you have struck for goods of life, a step, that smacks conceit,
All save the call "No god but He," is merely fraught with fraud and deceit.
Agarche Buth Hain Jamat Ki Astinon Mein
Mujhe Hai Hukm-e-Azan, La Ilaha Illallah
Even though the Idols are concealed in the sleeves of the congregation,
I am ordained to respond to the Azaan with, "No god but Allah".
Ye Naghma Fasl-e-Gul-o-Lala Ka Nahin Paband
Bahar Ho Ke Khizan, La Ilaha Illallah
These melodious songs are not confined To Time when rose and tulip bloom
Whatever be the season, "No god but Allah" must ring always.
Khird Huwi Hai Zaman-o-Makan Ki Zunnari
Na Hai Zaman Na Makan, La Ilaha Illallah
The mind has worn the holy thread of Time and Space like pagans
Though Time and Space both illusive "No god but True" is true withal.

Ghazal: Jab Ishq Sikhata Hai
Jab Ishq Sikhata Hai Adaab-e-Khud 'Agaahi
Khulte Hain Ghulamon Par Asrar-e-Shehanshaahi
When Love teaches man the respect of Self-Awareness
Though being a slave, he experiences the Kingly deeds
Attar Ho, Rumi Ho, Razi Ho, Ghazzali Ho
Kuch Hath Nahin Ata Be Aah-e-Sahargaahi
Be it Attar or Rumi or Razi or Gazali
Nothing comes in hand without the "night prayers"
Naumeed Na Ho In Se Aey Rahbar-e-Farzaana
Kamkosh To Hain Lekin Be-Zauq Nahin Raahi
O leader of intelligent, don't you despair of their worth
Though they are sluggish, your followers are loyal to you.
Aey Taa'ir-e-Lahooti! Uss Rizq Se Mout Achchi
Jis Rizq Se Aati Ho Parwaaz Mein Kotaahi
O bird who flies to the Eternal world! It is better to starve to death
Than to live on a prey, that obstructs your flight.
Dara-o-Sikandar Se Woh Mard-e-Faqeer Aula
Ho Jis Ki Faqeeri Mein Boo-e-Asadullaahi
Better than Darius and Alexander is that Fakir,
Whose piety has the attributes of 'The Tiger of God' (Ali)
Aa'een-e-Jawan Mardaan, Haq Goyi-o-Bebaki
Allah Ke Sheron Ko Aati Nahin Roobaahi
The constitution of men are, Speaking the Truth and being Upright
The Lions of God know not the traits of cunning of Fox.
